I love working on talk shows. Troy Vollhoffer is a stalwart in the country music scene. His company produces the Country Music Thunder Music Festivals all across North America. Troy’s full of a million crazy stories from his hockey playing days to his decades in the music industry, and it’s so fun to be a fly on the recording studio wall.

Once a guest is confirmed for a given episode, I get to work researching that guest, cobble together interview questions following the ups and downs of their music career, and map out the episode segments.

I handle the first round of story editing. Using Descript, I streamline the interview and select the most social media-worthy moments of the episode. Once an episode draft is approved by Troy’s team, I write up the title and metadata and send it off for final mix and master.

I’ve learned so much about the music industry and feel so lucky to work with so many award-winning artists.
